You could help save a life...

Hey guys,

My friend Courtney recently posted a video, encouraging everyone to vote for rescue4life, a non-profit non-kill organization that rescues animals. They are one of her favorite organizations, so please watch this video, and vote for the organization.

She doesn't know I'm going this for her, but it's close to her heart and my heart. So I hope to spread the word <3

Dad ily

Call me weird, call me crazy. But I wanna dedicate this post to my Dad <3

Obviously, not many people will read this, but I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to my dad.

My dad has gone to limits to shape me who I am today.

He used to run around USA just to buy me limited edition Barbie dolls. Yes everyone's barbie obsessed when they were little, including me :)

He tolerates my messy room. Literally, it's like a rubbish dump minus the smell here.

He supports my ballet, and doesn't complain when I miss family time because I have to go dance. I dance on weekends, that's why I miss so many family time.

I was never physically punished by my parents. (which this happens a lot to my fellow friends)

He tolerates my obsession with makeup and fashion, though he thinks it's a waste of money.

He allowed me to go to private boarding school, even if it means he has to work harder to pay for it. This is what means to me the most. I've been nagging him to let me go overseas to study. Now I got in, and the fee is of course huge. But he never questioned my ability to do well and get a scholarship.

"I'll have to do a million tooth implant to make up for the fee." said Dad jokingly :)

So thank you dad. You have no idea how much. I might not show it, but you're always my hero <3

Who's my dad?
Dr. Alex Lee Dental Surgeon <3 (message me on YouTube to get his clinic address, and maybe meet me there :) I go there often)
And the best dad in the whole wide world.

This is why I'm not scared of dentists. Both my parents are dental surgeons lol

Love you dad,
Amanda

I LOVE YOU ALL

So recently, I held a giveaway on my YouTube. I gave away an Absolutely Alice nail polish by OPI and a handmade bracelet to each winner.

I was so glad they receive the prizes earlier this week, because I was using regular air mail (I don't have that much money to spend on FedEx or DHL) and the nail polishes didn't break! Then again I used so many bubble wrap.

Anyway, a winner, Cristina,  was sweet enough to take pictures of the prizes and made this collage.

Isn't she just precious? So make sure to check out her blog :) she blogs about fashion, photography, I guess it's pretty chill. It's always really amazing to see people from all over the world (she's from Spain)

I know this is a very random blog, but I'm just so grateful for all of you who support me <3

I really cannot thank you enough

Amanda

Knotted/woven anklet?

This is not exactly new, but I never really mentioned it, because I wear it as an anklet, so it's not shown often, but tell me what you think! I personally really like the color and the design :)

The lighting is kinda off (it was night time) but I hope you see the colors and the pattern!

Some of my handmade things!!

So I recently handmade these little accessories and I've talked about some of them in my videos, but I think they deserve a blog post!! Enjoy!

Rose clip
This red rose clip is perfect for everyone!
It gives a Spanish feel to darker hair, and will show up really well on lighter hair!

Sunflower!!!
Rise and shine! This is a huge sunflower and will instantly jazz up your hair!
Great for darker hair because the contrast between dark and this bright yellow brings out the fun flower!

Big white flower
I have no idea what kind of flower this is, but it's great for all hair colors!
It contrasts with dark hair color, but is subtle on lighter hair.
It's very pure and classy.

Wrap beaded bracelets
These are inspired by Bhati Beads, but are a lot less expensive!
Hot pink with silver
Navy blue with silver
Moss green with gold
Black with gold
They're gorgeous and can be worn as a wrap bracelet, anklet or a choker.
But I personally love just throwing it on my wrist.
Colorful ones give a burst of color, and darker ones are very classy.

Friendship bracelet/anklet!
This is kind of the woven pattern, yellow, purple, pink and burgundy red looks so good together.
They compliment each other, and the colors really stand out without others stealing their glory.
One for your best friend and it's perfect for spring and summer.

So I really do hope you enjoyed this blogpost. It will be updated when I made other new creations, so stay tuned!

Amanda

My spring must haves - Wedged sandals!

Ok, so my current obsession is... wedged sandals!!
I absolutely LOVE them, I'm like really short, so I always need a bit of height in my shoes. And they're really spring-y and summer-y and I'm just obsessed with them! So I'm going to show you 2 of my favs :)

So the first pair, are these cute closed toe sandals from Kate Spade. They are really old, and are a pair of hand-me-downs from my mom but I adore them. They have these big flower pattern on them and are so pretty! Plus, they're not too high (around 1 to 1 1/2 inch, I'd say), so I don't have to worry about tripping! I wore them on my spring's fashion video, so go check it out if you haven't already!

Pretty right? Anyway, the next pair of sandals I'm going to talk about are from cutesygirl.com. They're actually really inexpensive for such good quality, and they're so adorable! They're a pair of black peep toe wedged sandals, and they have a sling back (is that how you call them? idk). They have this white outline and a bow at the front. BUT the thing is, these are so freaking high. They're I think 4 in. tall, and the platform is around 1 inch. The wedge does go thinner at the heel, so it's harder to walk in them. But on the whole, they're really comfortable and wedges are mostly easier to walk in than on stilettos. So, practice makes perfect! I'm going to walk in them at home.

P.S. they look great with red nails!

Aren't they just adorable?

So that's pretty much it! Thanks for reading and stay tuned :)

Amanda

Spring 2011: COLOR BLOCKING!!!!!

Hey sweeties! One of the hottest trends this spring season is color blocking.

If you don't know what that means, it's pairing 2 or more bright colored pieces together. For example, pairing an emerald green top, with purple pants/jeans. Or just wearing one bright color for the whole outfit.

Lets look at some pictures from the Spring 2011 runway:

Aren't they all so fun and creative? I personally would not wear like that on the street, but what I do, is I do one or 2 bright colored accessories, like a LARGE sky blue tote or some apple green heels/flats.

A brand that I immediately thought about for this trend is Kate Spade. I love how she has these really fun and colorful pieces to instantly brighten up an outfit. Kate Spade is definitely a place I would find some great pieces for this trend.
